Brand
Glenmorangie
Glenmorangie’s history dates back to 1843, when William Matheson founded the distillery in Tain, in the Scottish Highlands. From the beginning, the distillery became known for producing an unusually elegant and delicate style of whisky. Much of this character comes from Glenmorangie’s iconic copper stills, which are the tallest in Scotland. Their height ensures that only the lightest, purest vapours rise to the top, giving the spirit its signature smoothness.
The distillery sits beside the Tarlogie Springs, a unique water source filtered through limestone and sandstone for centuries. This mineral-rich water has become an essential part of Glenmorangie’s identity, shaping the clean, refined character of every bottle.
Glenmorangie has long been a pioneer in cask innovation. It was one of the first Scottish distilleries to explore wood finishing, maturing whisky in ex-bourbon casks before transferring it into sherry, port, wine or other speciality barrels. This approach transformed the flavour landscape of Scotch and helped establish Glenmorangie as a leader in craftsmanship and creativity.
Today, Glenmorangie is recognised worldwide for its bright, fruit-driven and beautifully balanced style. From the accessible Original to the more complex age statements and cask finishes, the brand continues to honour its Highland heritage while pushing boundaries in flavour and technique.
Glenmorangie remains a symbol of elegance, innovation and dedication to quality, offering whiskies shaped by tradition but always open to new possibilities.
